Thraximundar

I almost didn't want to post this one due to the way the colours came out on the scanner. In real life it blends quite seamlessly and is probably one of my best pieces so it's really frustrating that it's not up to snuff for all to see. This was a EDH general commission I did for one of the guys at my store and was a lot of fun to do..honestly one of my favourites thus far.

Goblin Guide

This one was a labour of love. I decided to do this little guy because I play with him every week and I really wanted to try something with the scroll at the bottom; my first time actually adding something extra like this, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. The scroll says "made of win" if you look closely enough.
Again with the scanning issues, I'll probably take a better picture of him at some point. Enjoy!

Oona's Blackguard

This was among the first three alters I did over a year ago for a friend. Borrowed it so I could grab a scan recently. Again, scanning makes the colours look horrible, so I'll be going back to taking pictures of the cards after this set of updates.

Hindering Light

I did this Hindering Light commission for one of the lads that works at our local shop, hopefully leading to more business!
I was happy with the way the card turned out, but the colours in the digital version are way off. The clouds you see here on the border take on a pinkish tone, though on paper it looks much closer to the original.
This one I did over three evenings, maybe about 5-6 hours total.

Journey to Nowhere

This card has replaced the O-Ring as my staple removal in my aggro decks, although not as versatile as the O-Ring, it costs one less and nine times out of ten I'm wanting to remove a blocker anyway so my army can get through. I really liked the colours in the card and tried very hard to get them matched, though I'm not too happy with some of the matching in the aquas..wouldn't mind another shot at it.
Most work done in acrylics with some touches done with Prismacolor brush tip markers.

Borderland Ranger

This is the first one I did after an 8 month hiatus from the game. Same as the Tower Gargoyle, was playing in a sealed league and I want to see this guy all the time. He seemed pretty challenging and it was either painting him or copping out and doing an air elemental which would have been far easier. My wife talked me into going for this one, so here it is!

Tower Gargoyle

The Tower Gargoyle was my second attempt at altering. I decided to go with something that was more difficult but also that was a bomb in the sealed league I was in, so it would look extra pimp when I slapped him down on the table. The gargoyle probably took me about 5-6 hours, as the blending was much more difficult to pull off.
Also, with all the images I'm posting, they are taken with a camera instead of being scanned...and it seems there's a little bit of an angle to it, so in the bottom left of the photos you can see the card sleeves i was leaning them against....but anyway, here it is:

Oblivion Ring

This is the first MTG alter that I ever attempted. I did this during the Shards of Alara months after seeing some people selling altered cards on e-bay.
This piece took me approximately 3 hours total; definitely one of my quicker pieces. Oblivion Ring was my favourite card at the time (and still holds sway over me) as I've always enjoyed white creature decks.
The alter was done all in acrylic, then coated with Krylon acrilic gloss finish.
